Great Cookie Recipe
1 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 cups sifted regular all-purpose flour or 2 cups instant-type flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 6 oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate pieces
Make up to 1 month ahead:
1. Start heating oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter and peanut butter til blended. Gradually add both sugars; beat till fluffy.
2. Add eggs, one at a time; beat until smooth. Sift regular flour and baking powder; beat into butter-sugar mixture, at low speed, till thoroughly blended. With spoon stir in chocolate pieces.
3. Drop batter, from tablespoon, onto greased cookie sheets, then slightly flatten each with back of spoon. Bake 12-15 minutes. Cool on wird racks. Freezer-wrap and freeze several hours before serving.
4. Let cookies stand, unwrapped, at room temperature till thawed. Makes about 6 dozen 2 inch cookies.
