New Orleans Chocolate Sheet Cake
Serves 24

2 cups flour
2 cupos sugar
1/2 cup butter
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 cup water
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla

Make cake day before it is to be served. Sift togehter flour and sugar. Set aside. Bring to boil butter, cocoa, oil and water. Remove from heat. Add flour and sugar. Mix, and add eggs, buttermilk, soda, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured 11 by 16 inch sheet pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Frosting:
1 stick butter
4 tablespoons cocoa
6 tablespoons milk
1 box [1 lb.] powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans. chopped

Bring to a rolling boil butter, cocoa and milk. Remvove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Add pecans. Ice cake in pan right out of the oven. Freezes well.
