Beer Battered Fries Lemon Peppered

Beer Battered Lemon Pepper Fries

  • 5-6 Russet Potatoes
  • 1 Cold bottle of your favorite Beer
  • 2 Whole Eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Corn Starch
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
  • Lemon Pepper to taste
  • Milk to cover fries
  • Extra Flour
  • Salt
  • Oil for frying (Peanut Oil recommended)

Directions: Beer Battered Lemon Pepper Fries

  1. Please see Note Below:
  2. Peel and slice your potatoes into fries
  3. Rinse potatoes until water runs clear and they are good and clean
  4. Place fries into a large bowl and submerge in milk, place in fridge (this can be done the day before)
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, corn starch, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, Lemon Pepper and mix thoroughly
  6. Beat the eggs and add to dry mix
  7. Gradually mix in your favorite beer until thick batter is combined (Like Pancake Batter)
  8. Prepare a baking sheet with a cooling rack in it. Fries need to be kept off bottom of baking sheet
  9. Pour fries out in strainer and let milk drain off.
  10. Dunk the fries into the batter and place onto cooling rack in baking pan
  11. Heat the oil to 375°F and fry for about 3-5 minutes
  12. Remove to a baking sheet covered with paper towel and season with kosher salt to taste
  13. Note: (You may have to drop in the fries by hand to keep from clumping)
