Better Homes Lasagna

Betty's recipe for Lasagna- from Better Homes and Gardens original cook book
{started making this Lasagna recipe in high school and made it with cottage cheese… since there were 8 children in my family, which was cheaper.}

Lasagne

1 pound hamburger
one clove garlic
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon basil
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1-1 pound canned tomatoes-2 cups
two--6 ounce cans tomato paste-1 1/3 cup
10 ounce lasagna noodles
2-12 ounce cartons large curd cream style cottage cheese-3 cups
two beaten eggs
2 teaspoons salt
half teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons fresh parsley
half cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound mozzarella cheese

Brown meat slowly, spoon off the fat. Add next six ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, until thick, 45 minutes to one hour, stirring occasionally.
Cook noodles in boiling water until tender. Drain, rinse in cold water. Combine cottage cheese with next five ingredients.

Place half the noodles in 13 x 9 x 2" baking dish. Spread half the cottage cheese mixture over, and half the mozzarella cheese, half the meat mixture.
Repeat layers.

Bake in moderate oven 375° 30 minutes.
Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before cutting in squares.
Makes 12 servings
