Mashed Potato Magic

Take 2 lb. potatoes and mix & match your recipe from these options...
mix-in options flavoring choices
1 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
3 Tbsp. chopped green onions or fresh chives
6 oz. VELVEETA®, cut up (about 1 cup)
1/4 cup TACO BELL® Thick & Chunky Salsa

1 cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar cheese
3 Tbsp. OSCAR MAYER Real Bacon Bits
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, cubed
2 cloves minced fresh or roasted garlic

just follow our 3 simple steps:


PEEL potatoes; cut into 1-inch cubes. Place in medium saucepan. Add enough water to completely cover potatoes. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 10 to 15 min. or until tender. Drain.

RETURN potatoes to the pan; mash to desired consistency with hand masher or electric mixer.

ADD mix-ins and flavorings. Cook until heated through, stirring frequently.

SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve this potato side dish with a crisp, mixed green salad or vegetable and cooked lean meat, poultry or fish.

MAKE AHEAD
Prepare this tasty side dish up to 2 days in advance and store, covered, in the refrigerator until ready to serve. To reheat, place the potato mixture in a microwaveable bowl; cover with vented microwave-safe plastic wrap. Microwave on HIGH about 4 min. or until heated through, stirring after 2 min. Stir in a few spoonfuls of milk for extra creaminess, if desired.

Russet potatoes are the best variety to use for mashed potatoes.
