Tea Bag Cookies In A Cup

Tea and cookies make a delightful combo, in fact you just cannot sip on the refreshing, hot beverage without trying to dip a cookie in it first. Here is a delicious union of the two; an excellent shortbread cookie that is shaped like a teabag. From the famed tea company Twinings, to Nigella Lawson and Media houses, everyone seems to be taken in by this idea, found floating on the World Wide Web. It certainly gives the term, ‘tea cookies’ a whole new meaning!

Here is what you have to do in order to make them perfectly:-

Ingredients

Get hold of 500 grams of all-purpose flour, 350 grams of butter and 150 grams of sugar along with half a spoon of salt. Be sure to get some vanilla essence too.

Making

  • Mixing the sugar and butter is the very first step involved here.
  • Adding the salted flour along with the vanilla essence is commonplace too.
  • Keep the dough refrigerated after kneading the mixture together.
  • The fun part begins now. Trace the shape of a teabag on parchment paper and place it on the dough.
  • Cut the dough carefully, following the edges of the paper template until you get cute teabag shaped pieces.
  • Bake them at 350ºF for about 20 minutes, but not before poking a tiny hole through the top of each teabag cookie.

Finalizing

  • Pass a string through the hole and cut off the extra part. Be sure to add a paper tag which will make it resemble a teabag perfectly.

  • Dip it in melted chocolate and wait for it to cool. Alternatively, you can pass around a bowl of chocolate dip at your tea party and urge your guests to coat their own cookies. It might be a trifle messy but it sure is fun.
