A photo cookbook can add interest and life to your recipe collection. You can see photos of your completed dishes to help plan your meal, or show friends and family who may want to borrow your recipes what the end result looks like. You can create your own photo recipe book either by hand or using a computer. Add all your recipes to a colorful photo book next time you organize or add to them.
Things You'll Need
Instructions
Photo Recipe Scrapbook
- 1Arrange all your recipes into categories: appetizers, meats, sides and desserts.
- 2Place each recipe on a separate page. Either write it out, or use glue to attach a recipe cutout or index card to the page.
- 3Glue a photo of the completed dish onto the page with the recipe. If you do not yet have a photo of the dish, take a photo the next time you make it, and add it then.
- 4Use sticky tabs to separate the sections of the book for quick reference.
Printed Photo Cookbook
- 5Type out all your recipes into Word documents, and save them according to their names.
- 6Take digital photos of each recipe, as you make it or find a photo of the dish on a Web site. Try a Web site like Flickr.com to find "creative commons" images that you can legally use.
- 7Add the photos to each recipe by opening the file. Click "Insert," and select "photo"
from the drop-down list that appears. - 8Browse for your file in the window, and double click it to add it to your document.
- 9Load the feed tray on your printer with card stock or heavy stationery, and print the documents onto the paper.
- 10Punch holes in the left side of each printed page with a three-hole punch.
- 11Slide the punched holes over the rings in a three-ring binder.
- 12Add sticky tabs or page dividers in between each section for quick reference.
