Grilled Meatloaf

Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 cup frozen chopped onions or seasoning mix (onions, peppers, and celery), thawed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • barbecue sauce, for glaze, optional

Preparation:

Heat the grill.
Combine the ground beef, pork, ketchup, egg, bread crumbs, onion mixture, salt, and pepper and mix until well blended. On a double piece of heavy duty foil, fashion the meat mixture into a loaf. Brush with barbecue sauce, if desired.
Grill over indirect heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or to 160° on an instant read thermometer.
