The perfect last-minute gift!Popcorn is the ultimate snack. At five-years-old, my daughter loves to be in the kitchen, and this popcorn recipe comes from her brilliant little mind. She wanted to give presents, but only had five dollars in her armadillo bank (we're from Texas). She decided to make everyone gifts. She got to thinking and dreamed-up chocolate candy cane popcorn. In just a few simple steps (with a little help from me), she had created a delicious treat. White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn is a quick gift booming with the flavors of the holidays - straight from the mind of a child.
Ingredients
1 bag (11 ounces) white chocolate chips
8 cups popped popcorn, salted but not buttered
1/4 cup crushed peppermints
8 cups popped popcorn, salted but not buttered
1/4 cup crushed peppermints
Directions
1. Place chocolate chips in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted (about 1 minute and 30 seconds, total).
2. Place the popcorn in a large bowl. Once the chocolate has melted, pour the chocolate and crushed peppermints over the popcorn. With a spoon, mix to combine until the popcorn is completely coated with the chocolate. Pour the popcorn out onto parchment or wax paper and allow the chocolate to set and harden, about 15 to 20 minutes. Store in an air-tight container for up to a week or place in food-safe gift bags for gifts.
