Old Bay Shrimp Fest

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 T. salt
  • 8 cups of water
  • 1/2 of 12 oz. can of beer
  • 4 red potatoes, quartered
  • 1 large sweet onion, cut in wedges
  • 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 ears fresh corn, broken in half
  • 2 lbs. large shrimp in shells

DIRECTIONS

    In an 8 qt. pot, bring Old Bay, salt, water and beer to a boil. Add potatoes and cook over high heat for 8 minutes.

    Add smoked sausage to potatoes and continue to cook on high for 5 minutes. Add corn to pot; continue to boil for 7 minutes. Add onion, and shrimp in shells,

    and cook for for 4 minutes.

    Drain cooking liquid. Pour contents of pot into several large bowls, shallow pails, or mound on a paper-covered table.

    Sprinkle with additional Old Bay if desired.
