Cookies In A Jar
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK
- Chocolate Chips, HERSHEY'S
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY'S Milk Chocolate Chips
- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup quick-cooking

- or old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips , HERSHEY'S Premier White Chips, HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips or HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Directions
- Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
- Layer the ingredients in a 1-quart glass canister or jar in the following order
- (from bottom to top): granulated sugar, 1 cup chocolate chips, brown sugar, flour
- mixture, oats and peanut butter chips. Tap jar gently on the counter to settle each
- layer before adding the next one.
- Cover; attach baking directions (see below) to jar. Makes 1 gift jar.
Baking Directions: Heat oven to 375 F. Empty contents of the jar into a large bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter, 1 slightly beaten egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Stir until well mixed. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased
- cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from
- cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes 24 cookies.
