Sure, summer's alright. But can anything really beat the feeling of curling up by a fireplace with a steamy, sweet, spicy, boozy beverage with some light snowfall outside? We think not. Tis the season for the toddy, and About.com has got you covered with endless ways to get into the warm cocktail game. From old-school classics to mixological wonders, every one is sure to delight. Now all you'll need to decide is rum, bourbon, or brandy? Like About.com Food on Facebook to see our best holiday food and cocktail recipes on the daily.

Toddy Takeover
The most quintessential cold-weather cocktail is probably the hot toddy. A mix of whiskey, hot water, honey, lemon, and sometimes tea or spices, it's the best way to make bourbon winter-friendly. Start with the basics, add some wine, or mix it up for a tempting twist.
Apples and Oranges
Although you can't go wrong with some warm bourbon, starting with a base of apple cider or adding other fruit flavors can be great way to take your toddy to the next level. Grab a bottle of unfiltered cider orapple brandy and savor the sweet life. Just don't forget the cinnamon sticks!
Ho Ho Cocoa
Hot chocolate: light of our lives, fire of our tongues, and even better with a splash or two of booze. Add some peppermint schnapps and whipped cream for starters, or try it with a kick of caffeine or Oaxacan spice. You may just wish the weather was chilly all year long.
Mulled Magic
As Michael Jackson (almost) said, it don't matter if you're red or white (we agree, as long as you're warm, boozy, and spiced). Just pick a bottle of red or take a white out of the fridge, because hey, it's mulling time.
