Most people eat cold cereal or something on toast for breakfast. Eggs, bacon, and hot cereal are also common choices. But why not mix things up a little bit? Try making a sandwich for breakfast. That's not as far out in left field as you think. A sandwich is bread with some type of filling. Use breakfast-type ingredients for the filling and you have a classic meal with a twist.
Think about using different types of bread to hold the filling. Raisin bread is delicious, as is pita bread. Focaccia can make an excellent sandwich. And English muffins are a classic sandwich maker. Tortillas wrapped around a filling are really sandwiches too!
Get creative with fillings too. Scrambled eggs are delicious stuffed into pita breads along with some cooked sausage. But chicken or ham salad is a great breakfast sandwich filling too.
And one more thing - these sandwiches are perfect to eat on the run! If you're pressed for time in the morning (who isn't?) grab one of these sammies on your way out the door. You'll start the day satisfied, with lots of nutritious fuel to get you through the morning.
