Slices of chocolate fudge are studded with peanuts and two types of crunchy cereal in this unusual fudge recipe.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups corn flakes
- 1.5 cups rice crispies
- 1 cup roasted peanuts
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation:
1. Prepare a 9x5 loaf pan by lining it with aluminum foil and spraying the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Combine the corn flakes, rice crispies, and peanuts in a large bowl, stir briefly to mix, and set aside.
3. Combine the sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar and butter melt. Bring to a boil and continue to boil, stirring constantly, for two and a half minutes.
4.Remove immediately from the heat and stir in the chocolate chips and vanilla, until smooth and well-combined.
5. Quickly pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and nuts, and stir to thoroughly combine.
6. Pour the candy into the prepared loaf pan and press it down so that it is in an even layer.
7. Allow the candy to set in the refrigerator or at room temperature for several hours.
8. To serve, remove the candy from the loaf pan and slice into ½-inch thick slices and cut the slices in half or quarters, depending on your preference.
