Black Forest Fudge blends sweet-tart cherry preserves into rich chocolate fudge for a decadent treat. This chocolate fudge recipe takes just a few minutes and can be made entirely in the microwave.
Because all of the cherry flavor comes from the preserves, use the best preserves you can find. I try to use preserves that have cherries listed as the first ingredient, and that contain big chunks of whole cherries.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2/3 cup good-quality cherry preserves
  • 4 tbsp (2 oz) butter

Preparation:

1. Prepare an 8x8 pan by lining it with aluminum foil and spraying the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, condensed milk, cherry preserves, and butter.
3. Microwave the mixture, stirring after every 30 seconds to prevent overheating, until all the chocolate is melted and the fudge is smooth.
4. Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and smooth it into an even layer. If you want, you can take some whole cherries from the leftover preserves and sprinkle them on top, pressing them into the fudge, to add some visual appeal.
5. Place the Black Forest Fudge in the refrigerator to set for at least 2 hours. Once set, cut into 1-inch squares and serve at room temperature. Store Black Forest Fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
