Romano Cheesy Oven Fries

Savory fries right from your oven, and for less than 200 calories a serving.
Makes 4 servings
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 ½ lbs. Washington Russet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons grated Romano cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 450°.  Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. Scrub potatoes with vegetable brush under cold running water.  Cut lengthwise into ½-inch wide sticks.  In a large bowl, toss the potatoes with oil to coat sticks.
  3. Arrange potatoes in single layer on the prepared baking sheet.  Bake 20 minutes, turn potatoes with turner or spatula.  Continue to bake until golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes longer.
  4. Turn potato sticks into a large bowl.  Add cheese and salt and toss well to coat potatoes.
Nutritional Analysis per serving:  183 calories, 5 g protein, 31 g carbohydrates, 5 g fat, 1 g saturated fat (24% of calories from fat), 5 mg cholesterol, 2 g fiber, 218 mg sodium.
