Recipes

Ahh, there is a lot going on this week. The winner of February's cocktail contest was announced earlier today and I think you will enjoy this sweet drink. Also, we cannot forget that St. Patrick's Day is this Monday, so get out your green and pour some Irish whiskey. Plus, there are two deadlines coming up, both on March 23rd - one is the voting for the Readers' Choice Awards (see below) and the other is for the Savory Cocktail Contest, which you can submit your recipe to here.

Have a great weekend and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Slainte!

Cocktail of the Week: Koi
Koi CocktailThis may be an Irish whiskey cocktail that you didn't know you wanted... until now. It is a delicate mix of TyKu, Irish whiskey, peach bitters, and an essential twist of lemon. It is such a simple and lovely mix of flavors that it's almost a shame to pass this one by. Get the recipe...

Sweet Cocktail Contest Winner: Babycakes
Babycakes CocktailA decision has been reached and we have a winner in February's Sweet Cocktail Contest. The cocktail is named Babycakes and its creator is New Orleans Bar Chef, Amber D. Peterson.
The sweet little drink is one of lemon vodka, rum, milk, cinnamon-vanilla and orgeat syrups with bitters and a little finishing touch with some king cake inspiration. It is a fantastic drink, sweet but not too sweet and it's definitely one you should try. Get the recipe...
There's more... Read the full results from the contest and explore all of these tempting recipes.

Luck of the Irish Cocktails
We find ourselves facing another St. Patrick's Day and you know what that means... it's time to find that bit of Irish inside each of us and have a party! Monday is the day and below are drinks and tips for making your green party one of the luckiest in town.
Irish Farmhouse CocktailIrish Farmhouse - One of the newest cocktails in the lucky libations collection, the Irish Farmhouse is a fun whiskey highball. It comes from Sweet Hospitality Group and is a mix of your favorite Irish whiskey, creme de cassis, and orange marmalade and juice. Add a touch of cinnamon, a little bitters, then top it all off with ginger ale and seltzer and you have a fantastic cocktail.
Popular St. Patrick's Day Cocktails - From the favorite Irish Coffee and  Irish Martini to the Pickleback and Irish Car Bomb, this collection of cocktails and shooters has one day in mind and every recipe has that touch of Irish that you're looking for.
Green Beer - If you need a recipe for Green Beer, follow that link, but first let me tell you the secret: add green food coloring to any beer. Done!

Irish Whiskey - Take some time to brush up on your Irish whiskey knowledge and read about what makes this style unique, find reviews, and more cocktails. Also, there seems to be a new Irish whiskey on the market. It is Donegal Estates Irish Whiskey, imported by Star Industries and it is so new that there's little talk about it yet. If you can find it and give it a try, let us know what you think. Don't forget to vote for your favorite Irish whiskey...
