Creamy homemade guacamole with mayonnaise
It may seem a bit odd to put mayonnaise in homemade guacamole, and I'll admit this recipe is by no means traditional! However, you don't really taste the mayonnaise. It just makes the guacamole smooth and creamy, which I love! For a vegan creamy homemade guacamole, use an egg-free vegan mayonnaise. Not convinced? Check out the positive reviews from readers below.
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 tbsp lime or lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 glove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- fresh chopped cilantro (optional)
- 1 tomato, diced small (optional)
Preparation:
Mash together the avocado and lime or lemon juice using a fork until avocado is smooth. Whisk in the other ingredients until smooth, adding fresh cilantro and stirring in the tomatoes last. For an even creamierguacamole, you could also make this using a food processor.
